Hints for Milly's Organics
-Salad Dressings-
The following suggestions are what worked for us in
our restaurant, AND, recipes some of our customers shared
with us. These delectable dressings, as a glaze, are
a great addition to main courses, too.
Apricot Cilantro
Great to glaze chicken. Add fresh cilantro to your chicken
dish or your salad for a stronger cilantro taste.
Avocado Dill
Try this on taco salad, antipasta salad, or potatoe
salad. Also, finish your seafood on the grill with a
drizzle of this.
Blueberry Basil
(This comes from 2 of our
customers.) #1 Beat out a chicken breast, coat it with
parmesan cheese. Chop dried apricots and cranberries,
place on top of coated chicken breast. Roll it with
fruit inside, then pan fry it. Toward the end of frying
drizzle this over the chicken, serve with wild rice
and you will have a hit. #2 Put tilapia on foil. (big
enough to be able to make like a tent over the fish
for the grill.) Add a handful of fresh blueberries on
top of the tilapia. Then squirt the dressing over that
and seal the foil. Put this on the grill 8-10 minutes.
When you open it, it will have a crystallized crust.
Serve immediately. Quite a delight!
Cayenne Watermelon
Screams for cucumbers on your salad - summer salads.
Glaze your chicken and seafood with this, too. Our summer
favorite!
Cranberry Citrus
This is the one for the porkloin in the oven. Again,
just toward the end of baking. Also, on fish. You can
warm some dressing on the side, so you can add more
as your eating your meal. Excellent on left-over-turkey
sandwiches.
Kiwi Sage
The one to glaze your turkey with. You'll be glad you
did.
Lemon Garlic Mint
Great on chicken and sea food, Greek salad - Romaine
Lettuce , olives, and feta cheese. Try this one on asparagus,
too.
Peppercorn Pomegranate
Candied walnuts, gorgonzola, and slices of pear over
a spring mix. Or try this on spinach salad topped with
sliced boiled eggs, crispy bacon, red onions, and fresh
pomegranate seeds.
Peppered Plum
The
guy's favorite. So get the grill going and squirt some
of this on steak, pork, chicken, fish, tofu, veggies.
I even stir fry with this one. Again, put this on toward
the end of cooking. On a salad - great with dry blue
cheese - it really smooths it out.
Persimmon Oregano
Great with avocados and fresh pomegranate seeds on your
salad. Try this as a glaze over chicken, pork and any
light fish.
Poppy Peach
Mixed Greens with Fresh Strawberries - it really compliments
the sage in the dressing. Also, marinate your veggies,
then grill - the peach flavor pops out.
Rosemary Raspberry
Top this salad with Danish Dry Blue Cheese. Try it over
lamb, chicken and some love it on strong fish.
Strawberry Mint
Great on Spinach Salad with fresh blueberries, mozzarella
cheese, and slivered almonds. A guaranteed hit on Grilled
Salmon. (Put this on toward the end of cooking - just
so it can bubble a little and glaze over.) Tomato Basil
Definitely the dipping one out of the bunch. Cold pasta
with artichokes, feta cheese and olives - never tasted
so good. Drizzle over chicken or swordfish toward the
end of cooking.
Tomato Basil
Great on cold pasta salad with artichoke hearts, feta cheese, and olives. Also, on Caprese salad - tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh basil. Try over Brushetta, too. Also, try as a savory finish on chicken, seafood, and veggies.
White Nectarine Lavender
And the most delicate of them all... Butter leaf lettuce,
thinly sliced brie cheese, fresh raspberries, and cashews.
Very delicate! Or try this with red onions, cherry tomatoes,
sweet peas, grilled tofu or crispy bacon over spring
mix. Also, glaze your halibut or pork chops at the last
of the grilling.
